AutolivAutomotive Safety giant Autoliv is using the RACELOGIC Vehicle Separation System with 100Hz RTK to conduct collision mitigation tests at their purpose built facility. The test centre, based in Vårgårda, Sweden, includes a mock town with an intersection, a remote controlled balloon car, and pedestrian simulation. MIRA Proving GroundMIRA (Motor Industry Research Association) are based in Warwickshire, UK, and are a leading independent provider of engineering development and research services to the worldwide automotive industry. MIRA use a number of VBOX units to carry out brake testing on their own test track facility for many large automotive manufacturers. They have various types of dry and wet surfaces with varying levels of grip, and find that VBOX is the only technology which works consistently in all conditions. Previously, MIRA had used fifth wheels, radar sensors, microwave sensors and optical sensors, but have now replaced all of these with VBOX systems. Test WorldTest World run the largest cold winter test facility in Finland, and carry out thousands of tests each year for various manufacturers. Their expertise is in testing tyres and braking systems. Test World have three VBOX units which they use on a daily basis. The nature of cold weather testing presents a number of unique problems. Optical and microwave sensors struggle to operate in such harsh conditions, and fifth wheels slide on the slippery surface. GPS sensors are ideally suited for such testing, as the only external fitting required is the aerial which can be mounted on the roof. http://www.testworld.fi/

The Australian GT SeriesRace series organisers around the world have increasingly been turning to 'black box' solutions to record video and data and support their own marshals, to understand exactly what's happening on the track during the race and avoid driver disputes. After a number of incidents, the Australian GT Series wanted the best available system for their race monitoring, with a view to bringing down dispute costs, and also to offer wider possibilities for recording their races. The solution they chose was Video VBOX Pro. DPR MotorsportAs a leading Caterham approved team, DPR Motorsport have set up their very own track side media centre to allow their drivers to benefit from data captured using Video VBOX. David Rowe, DPR Team principal, said: "As a team historically we have always relied heavily on data acquisition. We have found using the Video VBOX system together with our trackside media centre has enabled us to improve our support package further. Providing fast and convenient access to all of the team data gives our drivers the ability to analyse and view that data away from the circuit and between race weekends which is key to improving performance."

Top GearThe venerable car entertainment show has used VBOX equipment many times since it started in its current format in 2002. Whenever the BBC needs to accurately measure speed, distance, acceleration, or time, they use a VBOX.Memorable examples include:
![]() Click here to see Performance Box in action. Tekniikan MaailmaPerformance Box was given the top 5 star rating in a product test carried out by respected Finnish technical automotive magazine Tekniikan Maailma in 2009. In a head-to-head test covering accuracy, ease of use, and reliability, Performance Box surpassed the other 7 products to receive 9.8 points out of a maximum 10. Car and DriverA four page feature in the November 2002 edition of the largest selling US car magazine, Car and Driver, goes into detail on how they test cars. Car and Driver have a strong reputation for balanced, highly scientific automotive testing in the US. Car and Driver have used all types of testing equipment over the years, fifth wheels, optical sensors, and microwave sensors, and now they have taken the next logical step and invested in two VBOX II units using GPS and compact flash storage. Car and Driver magazine spent just over a year carefully evaluating and fine tuning their procedures before purchasing these units. RACELOGIC in turn helped develop the software to suit their needs, drawing on their many years of testing experience. This software is available for anybody purchasing a VBOX, and makes testing and evaluating new vehicles an efficient and pleasurable process. Automotive testing technology internationalAdam Gavine, editor of the respected 'Automotive Testing Technology International' magazine uses VBOX systems for many of the magazine's technical vehicle testing features. He recently used a Video VBOX Pro at Circuito Monteblanco in Spain for a feature in the magazine.
AutoBild IndiaOur VBOX IISX Triple Antenna data logger was described as being the 'ace in the pack' for a vehicle handling test undertaken by AutoBild Magazine India in July 2009. In what was probably the most objective and scientific handling test ever carried out by a magazine in India, drivers put 21 new cars through slalom, elk, skidpan, and circuit tests to decide which road cars handled and performed the best, with the Audi A4 3.2 Quattro finally beating the competition. AustalAustralian ship builder Austal is the largest aluminium shipbuilder in the world. Austal used VBOX SL3-Marine to test a new breed of naval defence craft in the form of the Littoral Combat Ship 'Independence' in the Gulf of Mexico. The striking new trimaran was designed to operate in coastal areas and is geared to supporting mine detection / elimination, anti-submarine warfare, and anti-surface warfare. Tobias Clarke from Austal shipbuilder on the VBOX SL3-Marine System
Volvo PentaMarine engine manufacturer Volvo Penta uses the VBOX SL3-marine system to obtain measurements on vessel handling characteristics to optimise their propeller and drive train setups. Three ground plane antennas were attached to the roof of a boat to obtain simultaneous Pitch, Roll and Yaw data, which is transmitted via Bluetooth to a dashboard mounted Q1 display. Volvo Penta were attracted to the VBOX SL3-Marine system for its flexibility and accuracy as a precise 3-axis measurement system that can be fitted and working in less than 5 minutes.
